On Friday 11th January, two Year 13 Spanish students had the privilege of visiting London's British Film Institute at Southbank.
Students have been studying Guillermo del Toro's 'El laberinto del Fauno', a film focusing on the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War, as part of their A level studies.
The day consisted of experts from the Royal Holloway University talking to the students about Spanish film and the Spanish Civil War. The students learnt a lot of new information related to the role of women and oppression during Franco's regime and about his Falangist political party.
To end the visit, students were treated to a cinematic screening of the film and were lucky to have experts in the field to deliver a Q&A session with us.
