Weekly Update 17/11/2023
Dear parents, carers and students,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to update you on recent events and activities at our school. This week, I find myself in the heart of our arts department, surrounded by the vibrant energy of our students. I wanted to speak about three main themes that I'd like to discuss today.
1. The Arts Curriculum: A Celebration of Creativity
We're gearing up for our winter showcase, featuring auditions for the music concert. This event is a fantastic opportunity to appreciate the diverse talents in our Arts curriculum, encompassing art, photography, music, and drama. Join us in celebrating the creativity and flair of our students at the winter showcase – a delightful evening that captures the spirit of Christmas.
2. Congratulations to Year 11 and 13 Students: A Time for Celebration
A special shout-out to our hardworking year 11 and 13 students! These past weeks, they've faced the challenge of practice exams with determination and resilience. Your support as parents is invaluable. As they receive personalized feedback in the upcoming weeks, let's work together to guide them on their academic journey. Stay tuned for details about the upcoming year 11 and 13 parents' evening – a crucial event to discuss progress and plan for the future.
3. Communication and Partnership: A Key to Success
Communication is at the heart of our partnership in education. These weekly updates aim to keep you informed in a proactive and accessible way. Education is a collaborative effort between students, staff, and parents, and we all share the common goal of ensuring the best possible start in life for our young people. On November 29th, we invite current parents to a special parents' morning. It's an opportunity to engage in conversations, tour the school, and gain a deeper understanding of the fantastic work happening at Uxbridge High School. Remember, we're all human beings with a shared commitment to the well-being and success of our students. Approach communication with trust, and together, we can ensure the best outcomes for our young people.
Before I finish this message, a quick mention of the recent celebratory lunch – it was a big hit amongst the students with almost 1,200 lunches served! Your support is truly appreciated.
Thank you for being part of our vibrant community, wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
Take care,
Louisa Seymour
