Principal's Weekly Update

Spotlight on the Arts

This evening, parents will be able to admire the fabulous artwork created by our talented students and enjoy a music concert. The exhibition and concert are perfect examples of the incredible arts program at Uxbridge High School. Our students have worked diligently to prepare a diverse showcase, featuring everything from Mozart to Billie Eilish, and even Oasis. I encourage you to attend and support our young musicians and artists.

Parental Support

As we move towards the end of the term, your support as parents is crucial. Your involvement is vital in helping students prepare for the final weeks and the various events we have planned.

One of the highlights this evening is our collaborative summer arts concert, which combines drama, design and technology, music, and art. This event exemplifies the collective talent of our students and staff, and your presence and encouragement are greatly appreciated.

Looking to the Future

Reflecting on last week’s discussion, we now have a new Education Minister, Bridget Phillipson. Her commitment to investing in the arts within state schools and integrating SEND students and alternative provision into the main education structure is promising. Additionally, the new government’s pledge to recruit 6,500 new teachers is a positive step for education.

At Uxbridge High School, we are already planning for the next academic year. I’m pleased to report that we are almost fully staffed, with only one vacancy remaining. Our mission is to ensure that every student has a specialist teacher, providing the highest quality education.

Upcoming Events

We have several exciting events coming up:

  • July 19th: Party with the Principal
  • July 22nd: Culture Day
  • Various Trips: Engaging and educational excursions

Your support in preparing your children for these events and encouraging their participation is invaluable.

A Note of Appreciation

In the spirit of the ongoing football season, I’d like to draw a parallel with Gareth Southgate, the England manager. Just as he strives to select the best team to perform on the highest stage, our goal at Uxbridge High School is to create the best environment and opportunities for our students. This requires dedication and sometimes comes with challenges. We appreciate your support and understanding as we work towards this goal.

Thank you for your continued support. Together, we can ensure a successful end of the term and a bright future for our students.

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy the great weather, and we look forward to seeing you next week.

Sincerely,

Louisa Seymour

Principal
